Four Player Props to Pique Jets' Fans Interest in Thursday Night Football
It's understandable if New York Jets fans' excitement for their Thursday Night Football appearance rivals that of the game's fading play-by-play announcer Al Michaels.
With the Jets (6-9) no longer in postseason contention, the desire to watch the December 28 road game against old friend Joe Flacco and the Cleveland Browns is certainly not at an all-time high. For those trying to find a reason to follow along Thursday night, SI Betting writer Jennifer Piacenti has provided a list of individual player props that could potentially pique one's interest.
For Jets' player props, Piacenti zoomed in on New York's dynamic second-year running back-receiver duo. She likes RB1 Breece Hall to make noticeable contributions to the passing attack, going OVER 31.5 receiving yards. As for WR1 Garrett Wilson, the suggested play is OVER 44.5 receiving yards.
SI Fantasy senior analyst Michael Fabiano offered some caution for Wilson enthusiasts due to Cleveland's defensive fantasy success against opposing wideouts.
"The Browns have allowed just one wideout (Brandon Aiyuk) to score double digits (11.6) against them at home this season … that’s among 40 visiting wide receivers! Not great for Garrett Wilson," said Fabiano in a post on the social media site X.
Piacenti offered two Browns' player prop bets, too. In addition to an anytime touchdown for tight end David Njoku (+195), the SI Betting analyst is looking at WR1 Amari Cooper to go OVER 54.5 receiving yards.
Having not practiced during the short week due to a heel injury, Cooper, who is coming off a 265-yard receiving performance against Houston, is questionable to play on Thursday night.
MMQB Predictions: Only One in Seven Gives Jets Chance to Beat Browns on TNF
Piacenti's TNF Player Prop Picks
Breece Hall over 31.5 receiving yards (-110)
"... The Browns have allowed an average of 35 receiving yards per game to running backs across the past four. Hall is averaging 5.6 targets per game this year and 8.3 yards per reception."
Amari Cooper over 54.5 receiving yards (-110)
"... Cooper exceeded this prop in each of those three contests and has exceeded it in nine of 15 games played this year. I’m willing to bet on the talent."
Garrett Wilson over 45.5 receiving yards (-110)
"... He’s averaging 63.9 yards per game this year and has exceeded this prop eleven times."
David Njoku anytime TD (+195)
"... The Jets have allowed eight touchdowns to tight ends this season, tied with the Rams for the second-most allowed."
