Aaron Rodgers is preparing to run it back with the New York Jets in 2024.

Progressively rehabilitating his surgically-repaired Achilles, Rodgers projected confidence in the organization's ability to contend under the current regime. While making his weekly Tuesday guest appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, the 40-year-old future Hall-of-Fame quarterback painted a positive outlook for a franchise that hasn't posted a winning record since 2015.

"I believe in the leadership that we have here. I believe in our guys," said Rodgers. "It's not a situation where we have to rebuild. We need to reload a little bit and there'll be some tough decisions for sure. I like the pieces that we have in place. I like our young players."

The four-time NFL MVP sounded anything but deflated from what lies ahead.

"I think the future is very bright, in New Jersey. for our guys," said Rodgers. "I like the men that we have on the squad. I like the characters that we have and we just gotta add a couple pieces to it."

Rodgers, who intends to play multiple seasons for the Jets, directly endorsed general manager Joe Douglas, head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

"I believe in Joe Douglas. I think he's put together a lot of great drafts and a great roster," said Rodgers. "I believe in Robert Saleh. I think he's a fantastic coach, he's about the right stuff. I believe in Nate Hackett. I always have. The offense that he runs is quarterback friendly."

Rodgers, who was injured four offensive snaps into the season opener, has thrown 475 career touchdown passes to 105 interceptions. He ranks ninth all-time in NFL history with 59,055 pass yards.

The Jets (5-9) will close out their 2023 home schedule on December 24 against the Washington Commanders, but Rodgers will not be active. Not yet back to 100 percent health, the decorated field general is delaying his return to game action until next year.

"The night is darkest before the dawn and we're gonna rise again," said Rodgers.
