Another Analyst Tabs Jets-Bills Matchup Must-See Affair

Nick Shook lists one of the AFC East battles as a top-three game in 2023; Gang Green occupies two top-10 slots

This AFC East rivalry looks even juicier after all that has transpired during the offseason.

The New York Jets were only one of three teams to beat the Buffalo Bills during the 2022 NFL regular season and they did it with Zach Wilson at quarterback.

Despite humbling Buffalo's high-powered offense led by highly-touted signal caller Josh Allen, the Jets finished the season in fourth place and the Bills went on to capture their third consecutive AFC East division crown.

In the months since, the Jets have worked to substantially narrow the gap between themselves and the defending three-time division champs. With a re-made receivers' room and future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers in town, Gang Green looks, on paper, like a serious threat to the Bills' reign.

Therefore, it's no surprise that anticipation is already building for the two Jets-Bills matchups that await in 2023.

Around The NFL writer Nick Shook identified the "Top 10 games of the 2023 NFL season" and the Jets at Bills battle landed at No. 3 on the list of "upcoming matchups that most pique his interest."

The Super Bowl LVII rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles earned the No. 1 spot.

In addition to the Rodgers-Allen matchup, Shook is looking forward to Rodgers vs. Jalen Hurts. The Jets' home affair against the Philadelphia Eagles ranked fifth overall on the top-10 intriguing games list.

Shook on the Jets at Bills game:

RANK 3 - New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

"These AFC East rivals split their games last season, with Josh Allen putting up an uncharacteristically poor performance during the Bills' loss in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Those Jets weren't quite what these Jets expect to be. That's right -- the matchup between Allen and Aaron Rodgers will likely dominate the NFL news and discussion cycle in the week leading up to this one. Rodgers will have a better supporting cast than he did in the Packers' loss to Allen and the Bills last season, but he won't be working with home-field advantage. Buffalo, meanwhile, will be eager to deflate all the offseason hype that's built up around the Jets. After all, the Bills are the reigning kings of the division, and they're not about to abdicate the throne just because a legendary quarterback is now on the other team."
