The New York Jets' three-game win streak came to an end as did the team's ascension in Sports Illustrated's weekly NFL Power Rankings.

With the offense serving up an all-around dud, the Jets (4-4) dropped a 27-6 decision to the Los Angeles Chargers (4-4) on Monday Night Football. The loss dropped Gang Green five spots into the bottom half of the 32-team rankings.

After reaching the No. 12 spot last week, the Jets fell to No. 17 overall heading into their Week 10 road matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Jets sit in between the No. 16 New Orleans Saints (5-4) and the No. 18 Houston Texans (4-4).

The Jets' offense has scored only eight touchdowns in eight games. Their 272.9 yards per game rank 31st out of 32 NFL teams.

"I get it, the stats aren’t great," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh on Wednesday. "Obviously, it’s not the greatest show on turf. He knows that there’s a lot of things he can do better, there’s a lot of things we can do better."

Meanwhile, the Jets' next opponent received a jolt when owner Mark Davis made a coaching change prior to the Week 9 game against the New York Giants. With interim head coach Antonio Pierce at the helm, the Raiders (4-5) posted a 30-6 triumph over the Giants and subsequently earned the No. 23 power ranking this week.

"They’re talented. Their defense is really freaking good. Offensively, obviously Josh Jacobs and Davante [Adams] are two of the best in football," said Saleh about the Raiders.

The Philadelphia Eagles (8-1), whose lone loss came at the hand of the Jets in Week 6, retained their No. 1 position atop the weekly power rankings. The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (7-2), who posted a 23-20 triumph over the Jets in Week 4, are No. 2 overall.

All four AFC East teams, including the Green & White, lost in Week 9 and saw their league-wide standing drop as a result. The Miami Dolphins (6-3) lead the way with the No. 8 ranking. The Buffalo Bills (5-4) occupy the No. 11 spot and the New England Patriots (2-7) reside at No. 29.

From Vikings, Texans, Raiders Show Some Life:

17. New York Jets (4–4)

Last week: loss vs. Los Angeles Chargers, 27–6

Next week: at Las Vegas

The Jets’ defensive performance against the Chargers was straight-up herculean, but there are nights when Wilson decides he cannot get rid of the football on schedule. Mixed into that grab bag were some good throws and some missed opportunities. At 4–4, the Jets’ three-game winning streak is over, but all is not lost. The Raiders in prime time this weekend, after Las Vegas has a chance to appropriately cool from their post–Josh McDaniels beatdown of the Giants, can be a get-right game.
