The New York Jets will try for a fourth straight victory when they close out the National Football League's Week 9 slate against the Los Angeles Chargers on November 6.

Having not lost since a three-point primetime setback to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4, the Jets will host Monday Night Football at MetLife Stadium for the second time this season. They posted a 22-16 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills in the MNF lid-lifter.

Like the season-opening win, the AFC battle against the Chargers will kick off at 8:15 pm ET on ESPN. Joe Buck (play-by-play, Troy Aikman (analyst) and Lisa Salters (sideline) will be on the call live in East Rutherford. An alternate feed showing the Manningcast will be available on ESPN2. Former Jets' top draft pick Keyshawn Johnson will make a guest appearance with Peyton and Eli Manning.

While the Jets posted a 13-10 overtime win over the New York Giants last time out, the Chargers are coming off a 30-13 triumph over Chicago in Week 8.

"We're focused on the New York Jets. This is a really good football team. They've beaten a lot of quality teams," said Chargers' head coach Brandon Staley. "We've got a lot of respect for them."

Nearing the midway point in the NFL regular season, the Jets (4-3) and Chargers (3-4) still have realistic postseason aspirations. In addition to possibly making a difference down the road, a Week 9 win would move the Green & White to within one-half game of AFC East leader Miami.

"It does because it is in conference, but the reality of it is that they all matter," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh on Friday in Florham Park.

While the Jets' offense has done just enough to win in recent weeks, it admittedly must improve on third down and red zone situations moving forward. Gang Green ranks last in the league in both third down conversion rate (22.99%) and red zone touchdown percentage (26.32%).

"We haven't been where we want to be on third down," said second-year receiver Garrett Wilson. "We're gonna try some new things this week, and we'll see how that see how that works."

Wilson will go up against a vulnerable Chargers' pass defense that allows a league-high 7.80 yards per attempt. Although Wilson, who is coming off a 100-yard performance, has had success, the Jets have struggled to move the ball through the air as a whole. Their 5.25 yards per pass play average ranks 29th out of 32 teams.

PLAYER NOTES: SI Fantasy analyst Michael Fabiano tabbed Wilson as his "Start of the Week" amongst receivers. ... Coinciding with the Jets' three-game win streak, second-year running back Breece Hall has reached the end zone three games in a row. ... Rookie interior offensive lineman Joe Tippmann is expected to return to the starting lineup after a quad injury caused him to miss time. He has made four starts at right guard but will move to center with Connor McGovern on Injured Reserve.
