The New York Jets’ defense will feature two Williams brothers again in 2023.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Jets have agreed to re-sign free agent linebacker Quincy Williams to a three-year, $18 million contract.

Word of the agreement came on the eve of the NFL’s legal two-day tampering window that precedes the free agency signing period, which opens on March 15 at 4:00 pm ET.

Jets’ defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, who is Quincy’s younger brother, displayed his excitement in a tweet on Sunday evening.

The younger Williams, who is playing on his rookie contract’s fifth-year option, landed with the Jets as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Alabama product went on to win All-Pro First Team honors this past season.

Older brother Quincy Williams, who attended Murray State, entered the NFL as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ third-round selection in 2019. The Jets claimed Williams off waivers prior to the 2021 regular season.

Since becoming a Jet, the outside linebacker has totaled 216 tackles in 31 games. In 2022, the older Williams logged 106 stops and 3.0 sacks while making 15 appearances.

The re-signing comes after Gang Green made two moves last week, reportedly releasing veteran receiver Braxton Berrios and sending a seventh-round draft pick (2024) to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for safety Chuck Clark.
