Primetime Darlings: How to Watch Jets on Sunday Night Football Stage
The New York Jets hadn't appeared on Sunday Night Football in more than a decade until ending the drought in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
On November 12, the Green & White will make their second SNF appearance in the first 10 weeks of the 2023 NFL regular season. Facing another AFC West team in primetime, the Jets (4-4) visit the Las Vegas Raiders (4-5) for an 8:20 pm ET kickoff at Allegiant Stadium.
NBC will carry the game live with a web stream available on Peacock. Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst) and Melissa Stark (sideline) will be on the call for the national television broadcast. For those Jets' fans needing to listen on the radio, the game will be available on WEPN 98.7 FM in the New York market.
Even without Aaron Rodgers, the Jets have attracted substantial primetime audiences this season. The SNF affair against the Chiefs averaged 26.7 million viewers according to NBC Sports. In what doubled as the "Taylor Swift Game," viewership peaked at over 29 million around 9:30 pm ET.
Prior to this season, the Jets last earned the Sunday night spotlight during the Rex Ryan Era in 2011. With Rodgers's arrival affecting the schedule, Gang Green received two SNF appearances along with two home Monday Night Football games in 2023.
There will be two more chances to see the Jets in a featured standalone window this season. The franchise will host the Miami Dolphins in the NFL's first-ever Black Friday Game on November 24 at 3:00 pm ET on Prime Video. Then, it's a Week 17 road game against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football (Dec. 28). The TNF game is subject to NFL flex scheduling until 28 days prior to kickoff.
Heading into their Week 10 primetime clash, the Jets and the Raiders are coming off opposite results. The Jets made too many mistakes in a 27-6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Meanwhile, the Raiders rewarded interim head coach Antonio Pierce with a 30-6 win over the New York Giants in his first game at the helm.
"They’re talented. Their defense is really freaking good. Offensively, obviously [running back] Josh Jacobs and [receiver] Davante [Adams] are two of the best in football," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh. "They played with a lot of juice, a lot of energy last week."
