New York radio personality Shaun Morash had some strong words in response to the news that the Jets activated Aaron Rodgers and placed the rehabbing quarterback onto the 53-man roster Wednesday.

In order to create a spot for Rodgers, the Jets released veteran fullback Nick Bawden and that didn't sit well with Morash.

"This is why Rodgers is a pig. This self-fulfilling, selfish, manipulating, dare I say monster now, is potentially going to take a roster check away from Nick Bawden for the final three weeks, who did nothing but be a good Jet all year," ranted Morash over the airwaves.

The drive-time producer/sidekick resorted to the harsh name-calling while speaking on WFAN's Evan and Tiki show. The overreacting Morash had no shortage of verbal venom for the 40-year-old Rodgers.

"Even if Bawden goes to the practice squad and then gets elevated, guess what?" yelled Morash. "Some guy now before the holidays is going to get waived off the practice squad and lose his practice squad checks because your quarterback that’s done nothing for you is a selfish pig and has no reason being activated on this roster for three weeks. He’s got no reason to be on the roster, and now somebody’s losing their job because he’s a pig!"

Morash is the same chatterbox who unfairly criticized Jets' quarterback Zach Wilson for spending time with loved ones during the team's bye week in October.

Naturally, Jets' head coach Robert Saleh would disagree with Morash's assessment. Saleh offered an explanation for Rodgers's activation on Wednesday.

"We're still gonna keep him on the active [roster]. We've got the roster flexibility with all the different things that happened over the last couple weeks and it's all part of his rehab. Just having him out on the football field is a plus for everybody. It's a plus for him. It's a plus for his teammates," said Saleh prior to practice on December 20.

Rodgers's 21-day activation window was due to close on Wednesday, meaning the team had to move the quarterback to the 53-man roster or keep him on IR for the remainder of the season. In the case of the latter option, the quarterback would not be permitted to practice with his teammates.
