Superstar QB Aaron Rodgers 'Would Like to Play in New York'

Speaking live on the Pat McAfee Show, the four-time NFL MVP, who is still under contract with the Green Bay Packers, announced his intention to join the Jets

He’s coming to New York Jets (as long as a trade agreement can be reached between Gang Green and the Green Bay Packers).

Long-time Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said the words that Jets’ fans have been wanting to hear during his guest appearance on Wednesday’s Pat McAfee Show.

“Since Friday, my intention was to play and to play for the New York Jets,” said Rodgers after spending time recounting his “darkness retreat.”

“I would like to play in New York,” the four-time NFL MVP stated.

According to Rodgers, the Packers and the Jets have to agree on trade compensation for it to happen.

“It’s my intention to play for the Jets, but I’m still under contract with the Packers.”

There have been varying reports on what the Packers are asking for in return for the Super Bowl XLV champion. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Green Bay could be demanding two first-round draft selections.

SI’s Albert Breer reported that Rodgers, who will earn $59.465 million in cash if he plays in 2023, would count $15.74 million against his team’s salary cap.

Accounting for a 64.6 completion percentage last season, Rodgers threw 542 passes for 3,695 yards and 26 touchdowns to 12 interceptions with the Packers.

Meanwhile, four different Jets quarterbacks combined for 14 touchdown passes, 14 interceptions and a 56.98 completion percentage during the 2022 campaign.
