The New York Jets could be without two key starters, one on offense and one on defense, when they host the Miami Dolphins in the first-ever NFL Black Friday Game on November 24.

Left tackle Mekhi Becton and slot cornerback Michael Carter II were both non-participants in Thursday's practice. Carter II is officially listed as "doubtful" for the Friday matinee while Becton carries a "questionable" tag after suffering a downgrade. The 6-foot-7 Becton practiced Wednesday in a limited capacity before posting a DNP one day later.

Becton suffered an ankle injury late in the first quarter against the Buffalo Bills. He left the game and did not return as fourth-round rookie Carter Warren filled in at left tackle.

Jets' head coach Robert Saleh noted that Becton is giving maximum effort in the uphill battle to recover in time for the Week 12 divisional game at MetLife Stadium.

"He’s trying to go for Friday, so he’s working through it," said Saleh on Tuesday.

Carter II was a late addition to last week's injury report with a hamstring issue. He was unable to go against Buffalo, missing his first game of the season. Cornerback Brandin Echols logged 57 defensive snaps as a fill-in.

In addition to Becton, veteran offensive tackle Billy Turner's availability is questionable. The 32-year-old bookend is dealing with a surgically-repaired finger that has already costed him two games.

Receiver Garrett Wilson, who has been nursing a sore elbow, does not have an injury designation heading into Friday's game. Safety Tony Adams, who temporarily left last week's game due to an ugly pinky injury, has also been cleared to face the Dolphins. Backup linebacker Chazz Surratt is expected to return to the lineup after missing three straight games due to an ankle injury.

The Jets (4-6) and the Dolphins (7-3) will kick off at 3:00 pm ET in East Rutherford. Prime Video has exclusive rights to carry the national broadcast, but local New York fans can watch on WNYW FOX 5.
