Best Bet: Jameson Williams Electrifies Ford Field on Thanksgiving
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has been steadily gaining the confidence of his teammates and the coaching staff.
With each passing week, the speedy wideout is focusing on the fundamentals of playing the wide receiver position.
While he works on his chemistry with veteran signal-caller Jared Goff, he has still impacted the offense in a positive manner, blocking for his teammates and forcing opposing defensive coordinators to account for him when he is out on the field.
Against a Packers defense that has been ineffective for most of the 2023 season, the former No. 12 overall pick has an opportunity to light up the stat sheet.
Play Michigan lead writer Drew Ellis believes Williams will have one of his most productive games of the 2023 season.
Reasons to Be Thankful for 2023 Detroit Lions
"It’s fair to say things haven’t quite gone the way the Lions or Jameson Williams planned when Detroit traded up to draft him No. 12 overall in 2022. Despite that, we’ve seen Willams become a little more involved in the offense in recent weeks," Ellis tells All Lions. "Outside of a question penalty on Taylor Decker, Williams should have two consecutive games with a TD. Ben Johnson is integrating Williams more in the offense and he’s seeing more snaps.
"Last week he made a tough catch on top of his touchdown, earning more trust from Jared Goff in the process. Williams is one of the few offensive weapons that Green Bay didn’t see in the first meeting and I think Detroit can use that to its advantage," Ellis explained further. "On a short week, getting Williams and his explosive speed the ball should be a priority. With such a low total, I think Williams can easily go over 23.5 yards (-120)."
In fact, if you are willing to make an extra investment this week, the second-year wideout finding the end zone (+265) can also be rewarding to your bankroll. Another bet to consider is Jared Goff throwing two or more touchdowns against Green Bay (-145).
