Bold Prediction: Jared Goff Throws Four Touchdowns against Broncos
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff had his most passing touchdowns in a game versus the Vikings in September of 2018, when he tossed five touchdowns.
Against the Broncos, Detroit's veteran signal-caller will come close to tying his career high, as the Lions' offense looks to light up the scoreboard.
Despite their recent struggles offensively, the 29-year-old pointed out this week several positives he has observed recently from Detroit's offense.
"I don’t know what the numbers are. I know we scored 40 against the Chargers, and played pretty well against the Saints and then the other three, just didn’t do our thing quite the same way offensively," Goff said. "And, yeah, I wish there was one thing you can put your finger on, but there’s not. It’s just plain execution and doing what we’re supposed to do. And, it starts with me and leading that charge and getting us back on track.”

Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson expressed Goff is still confident throwing in tight windows, plus expects the offense to get back on track over the course of the final month of the season.
"As we develop the passing game, it’s the timing, it’s the anticipation, it’s the trust between him and the route runners. And, if you want to look at it -- I’ll open this one up for you guys, if you want to look at, ‘Hey, where have we trended a little bit backwards over the course of the season?’ It’s been our base-pass game," Johnson explained to reporters. "Some of our staples that we have been doing in spring, training camp and all season long, they showed up last week in particular where, ‘God, we’re just not, we’re not doing what we say, how we installed that, how we said we were going to do it, how we’ve been doing it, how we’ve got banked reps on,’ and it’s come back and bit us in the rear end," said Johnson. "We’ve been in some second-and-longs, and those second-and-longs have become third-and-longs, because we haven’t executed well on second-and-longs.
"So, listen, it’s all fixable. These guys know. They know how we can get better and how we can improve, and we’re looking forward to an opportunity to do that.”
Against a Broncos defense that is opportunistic, Detroit will move the ball on the ground, and Goff has an opportunity to cap off several drives with touchdown passes.
If things turn out exceptionally well this week, Goff could even tie his career-high mark in touchdown tosses in a single game.
