Lions GM Brad Holmes Attends Michigan-Ohio State
Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes is present at Michigan Stadium for this afternoon's hotly-awaited contest between Michigan and Ohio State.
Holmes, in his third season as the Lions' GM, features a background in college scouting. He was the Los Angeles Rams' director of college scouting from 2013-2021, when he departed for the Lions' GM position.
The two teams are both undefeated, with the winner clinching a spot in the Big Ten championship game. The loser will be left on the outside-looking-in, and likely will miss the College Football Playoff.
The Game, as it's known, is annually one of the biggest showdowns, with local ties to Michigan. It's the second consecutive season in which both teams enter the game undefeated.
The Wolverines will be without head coach Jim Harbaugh, who is serving the last of a three-game suspension.
Holmes could be in attendance to evaluate a number of prospects, as both teams feature a multitude of likely NFL Draft picks. Among them are Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who is a likely top-five pick in April's draft.
The Buckeyes also feature EDGE rusher J.T. Tuimoloau and linebacker Tommy Eichenberg.
On the Michigan side, quarterback J.J. McCarthy is viewed amongst the second tier of passers available in the draft. Running back Blake Corum and defensive tackle Kris Jenkins are also prospects who could be of interest to the Lions.
Other interesting prospects from Michigan include cornerback Mike Sainristil, wide receiver Roman Wilson, offensive guard Zak Zinter and running back Donovan Edwards.
The Buckeyes, meanwhile, feature wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, cornerback Denzel Burke, running back TreVeyon Henderson and EDGE rusher Jack Sawyer.
