Detroit Lions Release Rookie Jersey Numbers

Detroit Lions release free agent and rookie jersey numbers.
In this story:

The Detroit Lions' 2023 rookie class has been officially assigned new jersey numbers.

Rookie linebacker Jack Campbell was asked at his introductory press conference in Detroit about what number he would be wearing, as No. 31 is already being worn by safety Kerby Joseph.

"Honestly, I’m not a huge -- they’ll give me what I’m going to get," said Campbell. "That's kind of how it’s kind of gone my whole entire life. So, I’m going to keep that rolling. Whether it’s 1 or 99 or anything in between, I’m just excited for the opportunity. Or I guess you’ve got 0 nowadays, too.”

Jameson Williams, who had posted online that he wanted to don the No. 1 jersey after cornerback Jeff Okudah was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, is not going to have his request met. Instead of Williams, cornerback Cam Sutton will now wear the No. 1 jersey in his first season in Motown.
