Jerry Jacobs Questionable, Marvin Jones Jr. Out Against Ravens
The Detroit Lions have added Jerry Jacobs and Marvin Jones to their Week 7 injury report, the team announced Saturday.
Jacobs has been ruled questionable with a knee injury, while Jones is out for personal reasons and will not travel with the team.
The changes came as a surprise Saturday, as neither had been listed on the injury report in the week leading up to Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Jacobs has started every game for the Lions at cornerback, recording three interceptions on the young season. In that span, he has amassed a 62.2 overall Pro Football Focus defensive grade along with a 60.8 coverage grade.
Jones, meanwhile, has notched five catches for 35 yards in a depth role for the Lions. He joins running back David Montgomery and offensive lineman Jonah Jackson as players already ruled out for Sunday's game.
Should Jacobs be unable to play, the Lions could lean on Will Harris or Steven Gilmore in his absence at cornerback. Harris has spent time at the nickel position in Brian Branch's absence, but Branch is slated for a potential return Sunday.
Gilmore, meanwhile, has been active in two games but has yet to record a defensive snap. He had a strong preseason as an undrafted rookie, notching two interceptions in the three game slate.
The Lions have already lost one key player at the cornerback position, as Emmanuel Moseley suffered a season-ending injury against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5. Cameron Sutton has been the starter opposite Jacobs all season long.
At receiver, meanwhile, the Lions got a spark with the early return of Jameson Williams. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds have been the team's top two wideouts, while Kalif Raymond has played a valuable depth role.
The Lions take on the Ravens at 1 p.m. Sunday.
