Look: Jameson Williams' Workout Grabbing Attention
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has been working on his craft all throughout this offseason.
It will be imperative for the talented wideout to take a step forward in his second NFL season, as the organization has made a lofty investment in the 22-year-old.
Williams, who suited up for just six games and logged a single reception (also a touchdown) a season ago, spent OTAs and mandatory minicamp working on refining his route-running skills. It's something that the Alabama product will need to continue to improve upon in order to become a reliable target for Lions veteran quarterback Jared Goff.
Most recently, Williams was seen working out at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif., with Detroit lead receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. He previously trained with St. Brown at the aforementioned high school in early April.
The most recent workout, documented by photographer Sergio Vasquez, featured Williams making a variety of catches, including a one-handed grab toward the sideline.
Williams, St. Brown and the rest of the Lions will report for the start of training camp, located at the team's Allen Park practice facility, next weekend.
Youth football camp
Williams will be hosting a free youth camp Saturday at Detroit East English High School.
Specifically, the camp is being offered to children as young as third grade and as old as 12th grade, with a focus on the skill positions.
The camp will run from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for third-sixth graders, plus from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. for seventh-12th graders.
