Jared Goff: Not Worst Thing Getting 'Ass Kicked a Little' by Bears
The Detroit Lions played with a sense of urgency after getting defeated soundly by the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
Detroit's coaching staff intended for the team to play it's best football in the month of December, as several young players have gained a wealth of experience throughout the course of the regular season.
Returning home to face the Denver Broncos in primetime, the team had a solid week of practice and felt a strong need to execute at a high level to secure a victory in a critical game.
Jared Goff was asked what the message was this week, as the team can clinch division title with a road victory against the Minnesota Vikings.
"Still urgent, still understanding what our goal is, what our mission is and not much has changed," said Goff. "I think last week -- it’s not the worst thing in the world to sometimes get your ass kicked a little bit like we did in Chicago. So, it created that and it continues on.”
The veteran signal-caller does not shoulder the burden of the organization's abysmal past, noting he still understands the importance of securing the NFC North and what it means to the fanbase.

"Yeah, it would be extra special one day looking back on it," said Goff. "I think if we’re able to get it done, it would mean just what it means, which is winning the division and that would be it. Now again, we’ve got to go play well and figure out a way to do that this week.
"But I don’t think we’re by any means considering the magnitude of what it, how long it’s been or that stuff," Goff commented further. "We’re trying to do our best on Wednesday and Thursday and Friday to find a way to win games.”
