Bold Prediction: Kerby Joseph Intercepts Dak Prescott Twice

Lions' defense will step up against Cowboys.

The Detroit Lions' defense is facing one of its toughest tests this week against the Dallas Cowboys on the road.

Quarterback Dak Prescott is leading a top passing offense against an average pass defense.

Despite Detroit's struggles defensively, though, it has been limiting opponents' explosive plays and has been more opportunistic lately.

This week, safety Kerby Joseph, who caught the attention of Detroit's front office due to often finding himself around the football, has an opportunity to intercept Prescott on multiple occasions.

In 2023, the third-round draft pick has secured four interceptions.

Last week, Detroit's talented safety was able to intercept Nick Mullens twice. What a feat it would be to secure multiple interceptions in back-to-back games.

Joseph earned praise this week from head coach Dan Campbell, who commented on how deep Detroit's safety room has now become.

"Iffy’s playing really good football," said Campbell. "And, look, Kerby Joseph’s doing a good job. But, everybody just assumes, ‘Well, Iffy is – is it Iffy or C.J.?’ Well, why? Why would you assume that? So, when he comes back, we’ve got options. We’ve got really good options. We’ve got football players, playmakers. It’s a great problem to have.”

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn explained this week how his secondary needs to tighten up, after allowing several explosive plays against the Minnesota Vikings.

“Here’s where my confidence comes from, demonstrated ability. And, we’ve been one of the best teams, as far as explosive plays throughout the season. And, man, we had that one hiccup against a really, really good player (Justin Jefferson) that actually made a lot of those plays," said Glenn. "So, our guys are showing that they can do that. So, what we do is we go back to the drawing board, make sure we finish those plays, especially when we’re in position to make those plays. And, we just have to do that, and those guys know it.

"Listen, we were in position to make a lot of those plays, and we went against a damn good player and he made those plays. And, we just have to go out there and make them.”
