Lions Fans Stunned at Frank Ragnow's Toughness
The Detroit Lions wanted to establish their culture as being a gritty football team that handles the toughest moments with poise.
For Frank Ragnow, his ability to battle through numerous injuries and ailments and still put forth the effort to play on Sunday's is nothing short of remarkable.
Recall, the 2018 first-round pick took a hit to his throat in January of 2021 against the Packers, but was still able to finish the game.
It was later revealed that Ragnow had fractured cartilage in his throat.
While there was no structural damage, Ragnow, for a period of time, was required to monitor closely when he could speak. It was deemed necessary for the throat to fully heal.
Following a dominant win against the Denver Broncos at Ford Field, a relative of Detroit's gritty center revealed the lengths to which Ragnow will go to play.
"A week and a half after freaking meniscus surgery and he’s playing. Dude's a certified psycho," Jack Ragnow posted on social media.
Supporters were stunned that Ragnow, who has battled a form of turf toe the past couple of seasons, is able to put his body through so much in an effort to suit up.
Each week, Ragnow is putting in several hours of work in the trainers room, and away from the facility, just to be able to make it through the week.
"Respect, Frank. The City loves your dedication," one supporter wrote.
"He’s so damn important to what we do, as well. Appreciate it, Frank," another fan shared.
Here is a sample of the reaction online to Ragnow playing after possibly having surgery two weeks ago.
