53-Man Lions Roster Projection Week 4

Updated Lions roster projection after Week 2 of preseason.
In this story:

Here is the latest 53-man roster projection for the Detroit Lions, after two preseason games.

Quarterbacks (2)

  • Jared Goff
  • Teddy Bridgewater
  • Hendon Hooker (Injured)

Running backs (4)

The final preseason game will determine quite a bit for members of the Lions' roster.

Reynolds is only slightly ahead of Benny Snell and Jermar Jefferson and will need a solid week to remain on the roster.

Wide receivers (5)

  • Amon-Ra St. Brown
  • Marvin Jones Jr.
  • Josh Reynolds
  • Kalif Raymond
  • Chase Cota
  • Jameson Williams (Suspended)

Both Drummond and Cota have performed well all throughout training camp. An injury to Maurice Alexander puts his roster spot in jeopardy.

If either Cota or Drummond are waived, it would be tough to imagine the rest of the league passing on signing these developing offensive wideouts.

Tight ends (4)

It will be interesting to see if Detroit decides to keep four tight ends on the roster. With an emphasis on the run game being a priority, keeping blocking tight ends may benefit Ben Johnson's offense.

Offensive line (9)

  • Frank Ragnow
  • Halapoulivaati Vaitai
  • Jonah Jackson
  • Taylor Decker
  • Penei Sewell
  • Graham Glasgow
  • Colby Sorsdal
  • Kayode Awosika
  • Germain Ifedi

Defensive line (5)

EDGE (6)

  • Aidan Hutchinson
  • James Houston
  • Charles Harris
  • Romeo Okwara
  • Josh Paschal
  • Julian Okwara

Julian Okwara has put together two solid weeks to put himself back in the picture to make the team, after being on the bubble the last couple of weeks.

Linebacker (5)

Cornerback (5)

Safety (5)

  • C.J. Gardner-Johnson
  • Tracy Walker III
  • Kerby Joseph
  • Brian Branch
  • Ifeatu Melifonwu

Specialists (3)
