Lions Fans See Season Ticket Prices Rise in 2024
The Detroit Lions have raised season ticket prices ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
Fans took to social media to voice their displeasure with the organization's decision to elevate the price. One fan who has tickets in section 335 said Monday that his season tickets went up "almost $500 a seat."
Another said their tickets nearly doubled, going from $1,550 to $2,879. Tickets in section 139 went from just under $1,600 this season to $2,878 next season. Per another fan, club seat prices have increased from $2,255 to $3,859.
Supporters expressed frustration with the increased ticket prices. Many fans have stuck with the team throughout its recent struggles. So, the decision to elevate the ticket prices as they enter contention comes as a disappointment.
Throughout the last five seasons, the team has kept its season ticket prices without much change. As a result, the elevated prices have come as a surprise. Last season, the team reportedly raised ticket prices by just four percent on average.
The decision to raise the prices for season tickets comes on the heels of the Lions nearing their first division title in 30 seasons, dating back to 1993. Additionally, the Lions could clinch their first playoff appearance since 2016 as soon as Monday night.
Detroit has long struggled to get on this level of competitiveness. Last season, the team was 9-8, and finished one game out of the postseason. The year before, fans watched as the team struggled to a 3-13-1 record, in its first season under Dan Campbell.
