Lions Add O-Line Help in Latest Daniel Jeremiah Mock Draft

The Lions could target the offensive line in April's Draft.

The Detroit Lions have questions to answer on their offensive line in the 2024 NFL offseason. Both of the team's starting guards, Graham Glasgow and Jonah Jackson, are set to hit free agency.

General manager Brad Holmes will have to decide whether or not to retain either one or both of the two. The offensive line has been a huge part of the team's success, so replenishing the depth will be paramount.

As a result, the offensive line is an area the Lions could elect to target during the NFL Draft in April. In Daniel Jeremiah's latest mock draft, which released Tuesday, the Lions indeed picked an offensive lineman with the No. 29 overall pick.

Jeremiah selected West Virginia offensive lineman Zach Frazier on behalf of the Lions, explaining that his skill set and background make him of interest to the Lions' brass.

"The Lions’ starting guards are scheduled to reach free agency this offseason, and this feels like Dan Campbell’s type of player," wrote Jeremiah. "Frazier, a state-champion wrestler in high school, could step right in at guard and eventually move to center."

Frazier is considered a fringe first-round prospect who has appealing versatility up front. He's a very good run blocker who played center at West Virginia. Currently, he's second behind top-rated center prospect, Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson.

In Jeremiah's mock, Powers-Johnson was selected 19th overall by the Los Angeles Rams.

Frazier earned a 74.5 overall offensive grade from Pro Football Focus in 2023. His marks in run- and pass-blocking were 73.2 and 77.9, respectively.

The lineman has been dealing with a leg injury that he suffered at Baylor in his final collegiate game. He expects to be fully cleared for the NFL Combine in late-February, according to Mountaineers Now.

The Lions currently have one of the league's best centers in Frank Ragnow, who battled through several injuries to earn second-team All-Pro honors in 2023. He was able to play 15 regular season games, with Glasgow starting in his place.

Glasgow has expressed a desire to return to the Lions in 2024. He was drafted by the Lions in 2016 and spent the first four seasons of his career with the organization.

He re-signed with the Lions in 2023 after three years with the Denver Broncos. Jackson, meanwhile, was a third-round pick of the Lions in 2020.
