LIVE BLOG: Follow Detroit Lions' Week 3 Matchup with Atlanta Falcons
The Detroit Lions are entering a key matchup in Week 3. The momentum generated by their Week 1 win was dispelled by last week's overtime loss.
Now, Dan Campbell's team will be looking to get back on track against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday in front of the home crowd at Ford Field. It's expected to be another excellent showing from the Lions' faithful.
Injuries have ravaged the Lions' depth over the last week. Ahead of a short week and a Thursday night matchup with Green Bay next week, they'll be without multiple starters against the Falcons.
Among those who will miss Sunday's game are running back David Montgomery, offensive tackle Taylor Decker, guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai safety Kerby Joseph and cornerback Emmanuel Moseley.
These injuries are in addition to C.J. Gardner-Johnson and James Houston being placed on injured reserve. Detroit's resolve will be tested in Sunday's game, with the adversity of the injuries paired with the devastation of last week's loss.
The Lions are looking to bounce back, and their offense could play a key role in that. Amon-Ra St. Brown, a key part of that, had been dealing with a toe injury.
"Just got bent up," St. Brown said of his injury. "But you can't hold a good brother down for too long. It was sore after the game -- really sore -- but it's been getting better every day. I'm excited, I'm happy, that it's nothing too serious."
