Predictions: Lions-Chargers
The Lions are getting healthier coming out of the bye week, as a trio of starters return to the offense. In particular, David Montgomery rejoins Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield. This dynamic will make the Lions hard to stop, now that Gibbs has found his groove.
Los Angeles' offense has plenty of targets that could cause problems with Detroit's secondary. However, Jerry Jacobs has passed most every test he's faced, and Cam Sutton has been solid. As a result, the Lions outlast the Chargers in what becomes an impressive road win.

The Lions won't have it easy against a Chargers team that I believe is better than its 4-4 record.
The Chargers are led by quarterback Justin Herbert, a top-five passer in the league based on QBR, and feature several playmakers on both sides of the ball. This includes running back Austin Ekeler, wide receiver Keenan Allen, safety Derwin James and cornerback Asante Samuel Jr.
The Lions, with veteran signal-caller Jared Goff, should be able to pass on Los Angeles' league-worst pass defense. And, the Chargers should be able to do the same against a middle-of-the-pack Detroit pass defense.
In the end, though, with David Montgomery, Frank Ragnow and Jonah Jackson all expected to play, I'll give the Lions the slightest of edges in this Week 10 matchup.

Lions' Week 10 Rooting Guide
Coming off the bye week, the Detroit Lions are set to get back into the swing of things against the Los Angeles Chargers.
I expect the Lions to come out strong, since they've had plenty of time to rest, recover and practice.
I'm excited to see how the likes of David Montgomery, Jonah Jackson and Frank Ragnow perform, coming off their respective injuries. Certainly, Detroit will be happy to have them back in the lineup and at full strength.
I'm also curious to see what contributions that newly acquired Donovan Peoples-Jones will have.
The Chargers have something to prove. But, ultimately, I think the Lions get the job done and cruise to the victory, improving to 7-2 on the year.

Detroit has the potential to secure several wins in the second half of the 2023 season, beginning with the Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers run defense can be exploited, despite only allowing over 100 yards on the ground twice this season.
The return of David Montgomery and two key offensive linemen should give the offense the jolt it needs to execute at a higher level.
Detroit's coaching staff expects red zone execution to improve in the second-half of the season and was likely a point of emphasis at practice this week.
Aaron Glenn will dial up the pressure at calculated moments in order to disrupt Justin Herbert's rhythm. Forcing a couple of turnovers will bode well in Week 10.
