Amon-Ra St. Brown, Khalil Dorsey Return to Lions Practice
The Detroit Lions (4-1) took to the practice field for the first time in preparation of their road matchup with the NFC South (3-1) leading Tampa Bay Bay Buccaneers.
Those not spotted during the portion of practice open to the media include Jonah Jackson, Jahmyr Gibbs, Zonovan Knight and James Mitchell.
Brian Branch was spotted working with trainers on the side, while cornerback Khalil Dorsey returned to practice, opening his 21-day practice window.
Prior to practice, Dan Campbell updated the status of several injured players.
He reiterated that wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was trending toward playing and was observed practicing Wednesday, while noting that running back Jahmyr Gibbs and Branch are both day-to-day.
"(Gibbs) and Branch are day-to-day, I feel a lot better about Saint," Campbell explained. "I think Saint will be out there practicing a little bit, should be. But, we'll just have to take it day-to-day."
Additionally, he stated that the team is hoping to start the return-to-play clocks on both defensive end Josh Paschal and Dorsey. Both players are eligible to return from injured reserve this week.
Each player will have 21 days to be activated from the time their clocks start respectively. With Dorsey's return Wednesday, the Lions will have three weeks to designate him to return.
On Monday, Campbell expressed Dorsey was closer to returning than Paschal, but added that both were nearing a comeback.
Tight end James Mitchell missed last week's game against the Panthers with a hamstring injury. Campbell does not anticipate the injury being a long term one.
"Probably not. He's another one I'd say day-to-day," Campbell said. "He's probably lesser than those other two we were talking about, Branch and Gibbs."
