Amon-Ra St. Brown Returns to Practice

The wideout is day-to-day ahead of Detroit's Week 3 matchup with Atlanta.

On Thursday, the Detroit Lions took to the practice field for their second practice in preparation for the Atlanta Falcons.

Those not spotted during the portion of practice open to the media include Frank Ragnow, David Montgomery and Halapoulivaati Vaitai.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown returned to practice after missing Wednesday. Emmanuel Moseley was in attendance but did not participate in drills. Safety Kerby Joseph and Taylor Decker were observed doing work on the side with trainers.

With the injury bug sweeping the team, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson explained to reporters the challenges of entering Week 3 having to shuffle the lineup.

"I think we knew that these weeks were gonna come. Really, any NFL season, this happens," Johnson explained. "And so that's been our challenge, really all training camp, is making sure we have the right depth in place. Feel really good about the guys that could potentially step up and play more snaps this week. They're guys we believe in, they've been here and they know our system. So expect no drop off in production."

This week, the Lions have an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of the front office in adding depth to the roster.

Graham Glasgow, who was beaten out by Halapoulivaati Vaitai, will start for an offensive line that could also be without Taylor Decker.

Despite his frustration with losing the training camp battle, the veteran is looking forward to his increased snap counts.

With injuries impacting the defense heavily, there could be a concern regarding the marriage between the pass-rush and coverage being disjointed.

Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn sees the defense being able to adapt and improve, similar to how the unit steadily improved in the second-half of the 2023 season.

"We have some new guys in that back end, and they're coming to a new defense, for the most part," Glenn explained. "So, we all have to understand exactly what we're trying to do when it comes to the coverage part, and that will happen. I have total confidence that it will happen. I mean, it happened last year, when the guys started improving as the season progressed and I see this happening this year."
