Podcast: Lions Will Learn Contender Status against Cowboys
The Detroit Lions have an opportunity, in front of the entire NFL world, to march into AT&T Stadium and prove they are a serious playoff contender.
Despite losing back-to-back games, the Dallas Cowboys are still among the top squads in the NFC.
In essence, Detroit's real playoff push starts on Saturday evening.
A win would silence many critics who still believe the team is not going to be a serious threat in the postseason.
Losing would ignite critics wondering if Dan Campbell's squad will exit early in the postseason.
Detroit's third-year head coach has ties to the Cowboys, too, having played in Dallas from 2003-2005.
"Those three years I was there, it was a great experience, around a lot of good people and there again, just when you grow up there and you’re a Cowboys fan, it means a lot," said Campbell. "I think if anything, when you feel like people acknowledge the things you’re doing, or the way you’re doing them, the style at which you go about your business and they acknowledge it, that’s a good feeling.
"You feel like, ‘Alright.’ You feel like you’re doing things the right way. So, it’s flattering, but I also know they want to beat us into the ground. We want to do the same. So, that’s part of the league.”
This episode of the All Lions "Bang The Table" podcast discusses how important it is for the Lions to win against the Cowboys and why there are so many doubters still.
