GREEN BAY, Wis. – Jordan Love will make his debut as the Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback with a Week 1 game at the Chicago Bears.

The game will start at 3:25 p.m. – Fox’s game of the week.

In that regard, the 2023 NFL schedule started with a little wink. The Packers under Aaron Rodgers owned the Bears. Incredibly, the Packers under Rodgers have won 12 of their last 13 treks to Soldier Field. Overall vs. Chicago, Green Bay has won eight in a row, 13 of 14, 17 of 19 and 23 of 26, spinning a decades-long deficit against its ancient rival into a 104-94-6 series lead.

Can Love keep Green Bay’s dominance going against the ascending Bears? Chicago retooled its defense in free agency and gave third-year quarterback Justin Fields a premier weapon when it acquired receiver D.J. Moore from the Carolina Panthers in a trade for the No. 1 overall pick.

“I have confidence in myself, I have confidence in the team, and we’re just going to take it day-by-day,” Love said on Wednesday. “I mean, I can’t say what might happen this year, what might happen next year. I mean, who knows? But I think that we have a really good team, I think we’re going to be able to work together every day, and just grow, keep growing, keep working together.”

In 2008, Rodgers made his starting debut at home against the Minnesota Vikings and emerged victorious with a 24-19 victory under the primetime lights. Rodgers was 18-of-22 for 178 yards with one touchdown pass and one touchdown run, and Atari Bigby’s interception clinched the game.

In 2023, Love will make his starting debut with back-to-back road games against the Bears and Atlanta Falcons before making his Lambeau Field starting debut in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.
