GREEN BAY, Wis. – You hate to put the cart before the Sunday inactives horse, but the Green Bay Packers could be at mostly full strength, if not totally at full strength, for this week’s game at the Denver Broncos.

At Wednesday’s practice, starting linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was the only player who did not practice. As was the case on Monday, Campbell did some rehab work with a trainer during the media portion of practice as he works his way back from an ankle injury sustained early in the Week 3 game against New Orleans.

“There was no setback there,” coach Matt LaFleur said after practice. “He’s just working through everything. I would say he’s probably more doubtful this week. We’ll see where he’s at but, obviously, give him up to game time to prove it.”

Campbell, an All-Pro in 2021, has played only 134 defensive snaps this season.

“Dre truly is such a leader on our defense,” position coach Kirk Olivadotti said this week. “Not only with his play but just everything that he brings. Dre’s not one of those players that likes not to practice. He loves being out there. That’s the way he gets into the game plan is actually going out and practicing it. So, I’m sure he’ll be the first to tell you, it’s been hard on him.”

Campbell’s sidekick at linebacker, Quay Walker, returned to practice. He missed the final 47 snaps of last Monday night’s game at the Las Vegas Raiders with a knee injury. He did not practice on Monday.

Walker leads the team with 51 tackles – 16 more than safety Rudy Ford – and has two of the six games of 17-plus tackles league-wide this season. He is the only player on the roster with at least one tackle for loss (three), quarterback hit (one), interception (one) and passes defensed (two).

Safety Darnell Savage, who missed the second half of the Las Vegas game with a calf injury, practiced for a second consecutive day. So did running back Aaron Jones, who was a surprise inactive against Las Vegas due to a hamstring injury.

“It definitely helped a lot,” Jones said of the bye. “Anytime you get those extra added days with rest, it’s huge. I was able to stay here with our training staff to get right. It gave me some confidence going into this week. I was able to get out there today and run around and do some drills, have a little bit of practice. It did a lot for my confidence.”

Walker, Jones, Savage and left guard Elgton Jenkins were limited participation.

Speaking of running back, former All-Rookie performer James Robinson made his practice debut. He was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday.

The man he replaced on the practice squad, Patrick Taylor, joined the New England Patriots’ practice squad on Wednesday.

Denver, coming off a loss at the Chiefs last Thursday, came out of its mini-bye in good shape. Only one player, tight end Greg Dulcich, did not practice. He could wind up on injured reserve, coach Sean Payton said on Wednesday.

Dulcich, a third-round pick in 2022 who caught 33 passes in only 10 games as a rookie, has three receptions in just two games this year.

“It’s any team that’s missing a corner or missing a player,” Payton said of replacing Dulich. “There’s a piece of something, as a starter, that you don’t have. It doesn’t go to one person, but it’s probably spread out in the offense relative to what we then do.

“It’s our league. We see it each week with teams losing key spots and key players. Where do [Vikings WR Justin] Jefferson’s touches go while he’s hurt in Minnesota? That’s up to us to figure out each night.”

Looking ahead one week, the Minnesota Vikings placed pass rusher Marcus Davenport on injured reserve on Wednesday. That means they’ll be without a top defensive player as well as premier receiver Justin Jefferson for next week’s game at Lambeau Field.
