GREEN BAY, Wis. – Running back Aaron Jones did not practice on Wednesday, their first practice of the week ahead of Sunday’s game at the Atlanta Falcons.

Jones delivered the two biggest offensive plays of the Week 1 victory over the Chicago Bears, including the 35-yard touchdown catch midway through the third quarter in which he grabbed his hamstring upon reaching the end zone. That play ended his day, though he said he could have returned had the Packers needed him.

“We’ll give him through the course of the week before making a determination,” coach Matt LaFleur said after practice.

Jones said he “felt great” after receptions of 51 and 35 yards highlighted a day of 11 touches for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

“Just a little bite. Not a pull,” Jones said. “I’ve pulled my hamstring before, so I didn’t really feel a pull. Just a little bite. Thankful for LaFleur for always looking out for me and my best interest.”

Jones wasn’t seen during the portion of practice open to reporters. Linebacker Quay Walker, who remains in the concussion protocol after sustaining a head injury at the end of his pick-six, and receiver Christian Watson, who was inactive on Sunday, worked with trainers on the side.

“Obviously, a lot better chance [of playing] than last week,” Watson said on Monday. “I’m just taking it day by day and just seeing where I’m at and taking it as it is.”

LaFleur would not say if Walker is close to emerging from the protocol.

Left tackle David Bakhtiari, who pitched a shutout in pass protection against the Bears after not practicing last week, did not practice again.

Romeo Doubs, who was questionable with a hamstring injury last week but scored two touchdowns, did go through practice.

For the Falcons, coach Arthur Smith said cornerback Jeff Okudah (foot) and running back/receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (thigh) would return to practice on Wednesday.

“Patterson and Okudah keep trending in the right direction,” Smith said before practice.

Okudah, a first-round draft pick by the Lions in 2020, was acquired for a fifth-round pick before the draft. After missing about half of his rookie season and all but one game in 2021, he started a career-high 15 games in 2022.

Patterson, a first-round pick by the Vikings in 2013, is listed at the “joker” position by the Falcons because of his versatility. In his first 10 seasons, he’s scored nine touchdowns on kickoff returns.

Linebacker Troy Andersen, who had 10 tackles last week, entered the concussion protocol.

This story will be updated after practice, when LaFleur talks to reporters and releases the injury report.
