Terrace Marshall Jr. Receives Permission to 'Seek a Trade'

The Panthers former second-rounder is looking to get out of Carolina.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. has received permission from the team to seek a trade with the help of his agent, Vince Taylor, according to a report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Marshall is seeking "a more prominent role" but would be welcomed back if no trade partner is found, per the report.

Marshall was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Panthers but hasn't quite found his footing in two-plus years with the team. Marshall has dealt with numerous injuries but has flashed when given an opportunity.

A couple of weeks ago, head coach Frank Reich took the blame for Marshall not getting in the game against Detroit.

“He should’ve played. He should’ve played some," Reich said the Monday following the loss. I wish he had gotten in there a little bit more. That’s my fault. I need to make sure, after the week he had the week before with the nine catches and got a little momentum going, that he and I had a conversation.

“So that was poor communication by me. I wanted to make sure that our guys knew to kind of make sure he had some playing time and that there would be opportunities. So that was my fault.”

In five games this season, Marshall has caught 16 passes for 114 yards.
