Finding Panthers: Schuyler Callihan's Five Wide Receivers to Watch at the Combine
While it's unfortunate that the Carolina Panthers don't hold the rights to their first-round pick (1st overall selection), they'll still have the opportunity to address one of their biggest needs this offseason at the top of the second round, thanks to a deep offensive line and wide receiver class.
Finding Panthers: Schuyler Callihan's Five Offensive Linemen to Watch at the Combine
With the NFL Combine just around the corner, we identified five of those wide receivers that Panthers fans should keep a close eye on.
Javon Baker, UCF
Baker made a name for himself in 2022, but really exploded onto the scene in 2023 hauling in 52 passes for 1,139 yards and seven touchdowns. He ranked second nationally with 21.9 yards per catch and first among Power Five receivers. The Panthers need a home run threat and Baker fits the description to a T.
Malachi Corley, Western Kentucky
Corley has the DJ Moore build, checking in at 5'11", 210 pounds. He's one of the best under the radar prospects in this draft class and even has the stamp of approval from Panthers legend, Steve Smith Sr. For his career, Corley reeled in 259 receptions for 3,035 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Keon Coleman, Florida State
Coleman began his career at Michigan State, but after not seeing the field much he transferred to Florida State where he became a top-level NFL prospect. There's no doubt that Coleman has a high ceiling, but I'm interested to see how he looks at the combine and hear the opinions of others. At 6'4", 216 lbs, Coleman could be the reliable big target that Bryce Young needs.
Troy Franklin, Oregon
Franklin's speed is what makes him so dynamic. He's the type of player you just want to get the ball to in space and let him go to work. Assuming he has a solid showing in Indy, I'd be surprised he makes it out of the first round.
Ladd McConkey, Georgia
There's a lot of hype around McConkey, but I'm not completely sold just yet. I'm getting there though. Some mock drafts suggest that he could go early in the second round, but I have a feeling he's going back end of the second/early third. He's a smooth route runner and plays bigger than his size would indicate.
