New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick shuts down any potential rumors that he is already looking at other jobs.

With the New England Patriots in the midst of their worst season under longtime coach Bill Belichick, whispers about his departure from Foxboro have never been louder.

At 2-9, the Patriots are clearly in need of major changes to right the ship, and that may include doing what was previously unthinkable and moving on from Belichick. If that were to happen, Belichick would certainly have plenty of suitors despite his recent struggles. The six-time Super Bowl champion (eight including his time as a defensive coordinator) has already been linked to multiple teams, such as the Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Chargers.

For now at least, Belichick is fully focused on finishing out this season as strong as he can. During his weekly appearance on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show on Monday, the 71-year-old coach gave a very brief answer regarding the rumors linking him to other teams, in typical Belichick fashion.

“Yeah, that’s ridiculous... Just trying to do the best job I can right now," Belichick said. "Obviously, I need to do better.

“I don’t worry about what everybody else is saying. I’ve heard good, I’ve heard bad. I don’t really care.”

It's been a trying season for everyone in the Patriots organization, especially when they've grown so accustomed to winning. Not only do they have the worst record in the AFC, but the way they've lost, being constantly marred by offensive ineptitude, has been especially disheartening. At this point, most New England fans are probably just looking forward to the season being over.

As bad as things are, though, Belichick isn't looking ahead to the future just yet.
