Patriots vs. Packers Preseason: How to Watch, Betting Odds, Zeke's Debut?
It's the second of three preseason games for the New England Patriots, and they continue the exhibition season by traveling to historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay to take on the Packers. Last week the Packers beat the Cincinnati Bengals in their first game of the 2023 preseason.
Last Thursday night, the Patriots began the preseason at home with a 20-9 loss to the Houston Texans. To complete the exhibition schedule, New England will take to the road for the final two games.
The Patriots and Packers held joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of their matchup. It's the first time the Patriots have held official practices with the Packers since Don Majkowski and Hugh Millen were lining up under center for both teams.
Patriots quarterback Mac Jones didn’t see any action against the Texans, but he could see some limited action in Green Bay. But it should mostly be Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham under center at Lambeau, as both found some success against Houston.
It could also be the Patriots debut for newly signed running back Ezekiel Elliott.
Zappe went 12-for-14 for 79 yards, while Cunningham rushed for 34 yards and the Patriots' only touchdown. The rest of the running game for the Patriots struggled, and we don’t expect to see Rhamondre Stevenson or the newly signed Ezekiel Elliott anytime soon to help.
