'Blank Space': New England Patriots' Bill Belichick Dismisses Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift Ahead of Hosting Kansas City Chiefs

On the same radio show in which admitted his fandom and joked about their relationship, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is now in no mood to talk about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Back in August, Bill Belichick openly talked about his affection for Taylor Swift. In September, he joked that the popular singer was the "biggest catch" of Travis Kelce's career.

But now, with his New England Patriots about to host Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs - and, presumably, Swift, in a Gillette Stadium suite - the 71-year-old is having none of any extracurricular talk. This is what 3-10 does to you.

On his weekly WEEI radio show Monday morning - same place he was playful about the topic earlier this season - Belichick was light-heartedly asked if he could get tickets for a co-host so she could meet Swift.

Grumbled Belichick, "I don’t really know anything about tickets.”

Another host followed-up on the Swift subject, asking if he was going to introduce himself to her sometime Sunday.

Grumbled Belichick even more, "I’m really focused on trying to get our team ready to play Kansas City, so ...”

Unbelievably, it was even painfully drier on the air that it looks in print:

Considering the Patriots have been officially eliminated from the playoffs and that Belichick on the same show basically admitted to being a "Swiftie" a couple months ago, it was a legitimate line of questioning.

The gruff coach who trends more toward Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi attended a Swift concert during a thunderstorm last Summer.

“That was pretty impressive,” Belichick said then. "She is tough, man. She just stood out there and played right through (the rain)."

In poking fun at the relationship between Kelce and Swift. Belichick said on the air that the pop star was the "biggest catch" of the tight end's career.

But mired in the worst season of his 29-year head-coaching career and with his job in Foxboro under intense scrutiny, apparently even his former punchline is these days no laughing matter.
