Matthew Judon Reveals Feelings For Patriots, Boston: 'I Love Everything!'
If this business affair with the New England Patriots doesn't work out, perhaps Matthew Judon could join Boston's tourism department instead.
Speaking on "The Jim Rome Show," Judon praised the Beantown area, lauding not only the city and its support of the Patriots in nearby Foxboro,
“I actually love everything about it," Judon told Rome of Boston before lauding the synergy between the area's sports teams. "I love the Boston seaport downtown area."
Judon has also been taken in by the synergy of the area's sports team. Having spent the first five years of his career in Baltimore, in the expansive Washington D.C./Baltimore/Virginia area, having the teams relatively centralized is refreshing as compared to the spread-out nature of the DMV's squads.
"I just like the camaraderie amongst the teams," Judon said. "I was in Maryland where our next closest team was in DC, but we get love from the C’s, from the Bruins, from the Red (Sox). Everybody out there shows us love and we do it to them and we just support each other."
While Bostonians will likely cherish Judon's loyalty and praise of the city, they'll be pleased to know that his primary concern remains the gridiron, where he has made a noticeable impact in two seasons with the Patriots. A new career-best of 15.5 sacks (fourth in the NFL) helped him earn his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl berth and gave him 28 total over his first pair of Patriot campaigns.
Though New England's current fortunes are seen as dire by some, Judon has vowed to do what he can to change such perception through recruiting. Though he has only spent two seasons with the Pats, he has already adopted their famous philosophy, claiming "the Patriot way is my way."
“I like being in the building. I enjoy the people around the building," Judon said of Foxboro. "I’ll be recruiting people. I’ve been trying to get them to come over there, come over there with me because I really enjoy it. I wouldn’t tell people to come do it if I really didn’t enjoy it.”
New England finished 8-9 last season, one game away from the AFC's seventh and final playoff spot.
