The New England Patriots' offense was the star of the show in their final joint practice with the Green Bay Packers.

The New England Patriots went out with a bang on the final day of their joint practices with the Green Bay Packers.

After many reported that the Packers got the better of the Patriots on Wednesday, New England bounced back with a reportedly "dominant" performance. By all indications, including Evan Lazar of Patriots.com, the offense led the way as their work in the redzone "lit up" the Green Bay defense.

As you'd expect, the offense's success was boosted by a strong showing from quarterback Mac Jones. According to MassLive's Mark Daniels, the Patriots' third-year quarterback had "one of his best practices ever," completing 14 of 17 passes in the 11-on-11 work.

This impressive day from Jones included what Daniels described as his "best throw" of the summer, as he found veteran receiver DeVante Parker for a 50-yard touchdown pass during a two-minute drill.

It was a strong finish for the Patriots, as they will have a rest day on Friday before playing the Packers on Saturday.

The reports of an impressive offensive showing have to be music to the ears of fans who still have last season's disastrous showing from that side of the ball fresh on their mind.

Under the direction of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, two inexperienced offensive coordinators before last season presided over a Patriots offense that had the league's worst redzone touchdown percentage combined with ranking near the bottom in first downs and yards per game.

While no regular seasons have been played yet, it seems Jones is already reaping the rewards of having an experienced coordinator in Bill O'Brien calling the shots in Foxboro. The former first-round pick suffered last season, visibly regressing from his promising rookie year as he threw 14 touchdowns to 12 interceptions while seeing a dip in his completion percentage and yards per attempt.

The Patriots will kickoff their second preseason game on Saturday at 8 p.m. (EST) in Lambeau Field.
