Dream Team: Former New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady Eyeing Olympics?

If flag football becomes a sport at the 2028 Olympics, former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski wants to play. So too might old teammate Tom Brady?
In this story:

Tom Brady back playing football and throwing passes to Rob Gronkowski and Tyreek Hill? It's not Fantasy Football, but maybe flag football.

Olympic organizers are proposing five new sports for inclusion in the 2028 Summer games to be held in Los Angeles: baseball, cricket, lacrosse and, yep, flag football.

"I'm in!" Gronkowski told TMZ. "Hopefully there's no tryouts and they just accept me. I'm going for that if there is flag football in the Olympics in 2028 for sure."

The former New England Patriots' star tight end will be 39 and seven years removed from the NFL in 2028. But he might be a perfect fit for a U.S. flag football team, as current NFL players wouldn't be eligible. Hill, the Miami Dolphins' speedy receiver who previously said he plans to retire from the NFL at age 31 in 2025, has also already expressed an interest in the Olympics.

Could America be watching a Dream Team II, comprised of former NFL stars trying to add an Olympic gold medal to their resumes?

The United States Olympic Committee will have some interesting decisions to make, when and if the time comes. Which players better serve the goal of winning gold? Older players with high-level NFL experience? Or younger players who aren’t quite up to snuff for NFL rosters?

If Gronk and Tyreek are two of the weapons, why not have the GOAT quarterback throw to them? Brady will be 51 in 2028 but, considering how he takes care of his body, will likely still be able to sling it.

That is, of course, if he hasn't unretired again and is back in the NFL in five years.
