Patriots Announce Ticket Price Increase: How Much for 2023?
Despite an 8-9 finish to the 2022 NFL season, the New England Patriots will become a more costly team to watch in 2023.
In a letter sent to season-ticket holders on Wednesday, the organization announced an increase in ticket prices throughout Gillette Stadium, set to take effect at the start of the upcoming year.
Though a few select sections have seen a periodic increase in their rates, this raise in ticket prices marks the first Stadium-wide initiative since 2008. In fact, over the last 15 years, a Boston Globe-led analysis found that 15 percent of seats did not experience any changes over the past 15 years.
In 2002, team owner Robert Kraft and the Kraft family personally financed the construction of the Stadium for $325 million
The Patriots are set to host a total of 10 games at Gillette Stadium this season, with the possibility — no matter how slim the oddsmakers may believe — of playing at least one playoff game in early 2024. New England is slated to welcome one preseason opponent, in addition to eight regular season adversaries.
While the Pats are technically listed for nine home games, one such matchup will reportedly take place in Frankfurt, Germany, with New England serving as the host club to serve to fulfill the NFL International Series requirement.
The Patriots are, however, lightening the financial burden for their fans by lowing the cost of parking at the stadium. Starting during preseason, three different parking options, will be enacted to ease traffic congestion from Gillette Stadium, which has been know to cause significant transit delays in Foxboro and the surrounding areas.
1. Free general parking: To improve the efficiency of arriving traffic, parking will be free in all stadium-owned general parking lots (across Route 1 from the stadium).
2. Be paid to park: Those who choose to park in our 75-minute delayed release lot will earn a $50 Visa gift card when entering the lot.
3. Stadium-side prepaid parking: Season Ticket Members have the option to purchase an electronic and transferable season parking pass for $225 ($25 per game).
While the team’s reasoning for the increase has yet to be officially confirmed, New England is currently in the process of $225 million renovation to Gillette Stadium, which includes a new hospitality and function concourse, a rebuilt observation lighthouse structure and the largest high-definition video board in the country.
Construction on the project is expected to be completed in advance of the start of the 2023 regular season.
