'Fake News!': Patriots Legend Tom Brady Addresses Fox Sports Rumor

Former New England Patriots quarterback apparently intends to cash in on the massive contract offered by Fox Sports despite rumors toward the contrary.

Tom Brady's apparently interested in making Fox Sports great again.

Amid rumors that there was a "51 percent" chance he'd walk out on Fox Sports' $375 million deal waiting for him upon his retirement from the field, the former New England Patriots quarterback made his attempt at clearing the air on Instagram.

Responding to a Sports Illustrated post about his apparent hesitance about moving onto Fox, Brady commented "FakeNews." While the term has existed since the 19th century, it was popularized during the 2016 United States presidential election.

While Brady's clarification will likely do little to convince the football-loving public of his future ... a good portion still isn't fully sure his playing career is over ... there's no better source to reveal his future. The 10-year, $375 million contract offered to him by Fox Sports, which would make him the lead color analyst for the network's biggest games, was originally offered to him after his original retirement from the league in 2022.

Brady has since announced plans to take a year off from football entirely, which would put him on pace to partake in Fox's coverage of Super Bowl LIX.

New York Post sports media reporter Andrew Marchand, who stated that he "kind of felt like I’m going more 49 percent chance he does it, 51 percent chance he doesn’t," when it came to the chances of Brady's Fox future, stood by and clarified the comments he made on "The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast" that set off the rumor earlier this week. He said that his podcast comments were meant to be part of his "silly Brady Meter" and were meant to voice his personal opinion rather than any concrete fact.

"It is a nice compliment for other sites to credit what you report, but, in this case, we didn’t report anything," Marchand said in a follow-up column in the New York Post. "It is my opinion. Yes, informed, but it's my stupid meter, not Brady’s."
