Brandon Facyson Adds Experience to Raiders' DB Room

Brandon Facyson returns to the Las Vegas Raiders with a chance to be a leader.
In this story:

The Las Vegas Raiders added several defensive backs to their roster during free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft.

One of the players they added in free agency was cornerback Brandon Facyson, who rejoins the Raiders after spending a season with the Indianapolis Colts.

Facyson was undrafted out of Virginia Tech in the 2018 NFL Draft and spent the first few seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers. He signed with the Raiders off of the Chargers’ practice squad in 2021.

During that season, Facyson started nine games, posting 55 tackles, two tackles for losses, 13 passes defended, and an interception. According to Pro Football Focus, Facyson was targeted 71 times, allowing 42 receptions for 546 yards and six touchdowns.

Now entering his sixth season in the league, Facyson begins his second stint in the Silver and Black as one of the more experienced players in the Raiders’ defensive back room. Of all the cornerbacks and safeties on the roster, Facyson has spent the most years in the NFL.

This experience can be beneficial to Facyson and the Raiders. He can be a player who leads in the locker room and on the field. Defenses around the NFL are much better when they have a vocal leader and a player who leads by example on the field, and Facyson has a chance to be that.

Brandon Facyson has a chance to step into a leadership role for the Raiders, and if he can step into a role like that, he could elevate the Raiders’ secondary.
