On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders will travel to Soldier Field in Chicago to take on the struggling Chicago Bears.

The Raiders are 3-3 and have a chance to have a winning record again with a victory over a team that has not lived up to offseason expectations that it would be significantly improved.

The Bears are 1-5 this season, and their offense has shown flashes of good play, but mostly inconsistency. Chicago averages 21.3 points per game and has scored 20 or more in only three games this season.

However, they perform well in some areas, including running the football. The Bears are seventh in the NFL in rushing yards per game, with several ball carriers who can break off big runs.

The Bears’ offensive coordinator is Luke Getsy, who has tailored his offense to fit quarterback Justin Fields’ skill set. With a run-heavy offense that has plenty of run-pass option plays, and screen passes to allow for optimal yards-after-catch opportunities for wide receivers, Fields has finally broken out in his third season with the Bears.

Unfortunately for the Bears, Fields left Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings due to an injury to his right hand. Rookie Tyson Bagent replaced Fields and played well, given the circumstances. It is unclear which quarterback the Raiders will face on Sunday.

The Bears’ rushing attack is dealing with key injuries at the moment. Leading rusher Khalil Herbert was placed on injured reserve because of an ankle injury, and rookie Roschon Johnson missed Sunday’s game due to a concussion.

In the passing game, wide receiver D.J. Moore has been on pace for a career season. The Raiders must have a plan for Moore, or he will significantly impact the outcome of the game. Tight end Cole Kmet has also been quite good for Chicago as well, with 240 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

The Bears have the pieces and the suitable scheme to be an efficient offense, but they are still very young on that side of the ball and have not been consistent. The health of Fields will be vital to finding consistency.

The Raiders are coming off of two impressive defensive performances and looking to make it three straight against a Bears offense that still has yet to put it all together.

The Silver and Black will head on the road to take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1:05 p.m. EDT/10:05 a.m. PDT.
