Raiders' Sam Webb:  A Closer Look

Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Sam Webb is entering his sophomore season

Many second-year players are entering their sophomore season as Las Vegas Raiders. One of those players is cornerback Sam Webb.

Sam Webb was signed by the Raiders as a free agent on May 12, 2022. He played 17 games last season for the Raiders, started three games, and added depth to the cornerback room.

Webb finished last NFL season with a combined total of 36 tackles and 25 total solos. Webb also had three passes defended in coverage as a cornerback. His best game was on Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts. Webb finished the game with a combined total of eight tackles. In this game, he also had five solo tackles, two passes defended, and a forced fumble.

Sam Webb played college football at Missouri Western State, a Division II football program. While at Missouri Western State, he played 44 games with the Griffons. He had 92 tackles as a cornerback, along with 109 total tackles. He also had 39 passes defended, seven interceptions, and three forced fumbles. As a Junior in 2019, Webb was a First Team Don Hansen All-Super Region Three Team. He was also an All-MIAA First Team and a D2CCA All-Region Second Team. During the 2021 season, he was honored as an All-MIAA Second Team selection.

With much-needed improvement to the Raiders' cornerback depth and now with his sophomore season on approach, it will be very interesting to see what Webb can bring to the Raiders' defense and cornerback room, as he will fight to earn his way on the 53-man roster.

The Raiders' offseason workout schedule is as follows:

OTA Offseason workouts:  June 12-15

Mandatory Minicamp: June 6-8
