It's been a little while since the Las Vegas Raiders played a game on Sunday night.

For the first time since January of 2022, the Silver and Black will play in the Sunday primetime slot this week, when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers in their 2023 regular-season home opener.

The last time Las Vegas played in Sunday Night Football on NBC was a memorable evening for Raider Nation as the Raiders defeated one of their top rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, in overtime to clinch a spot in their first postseason since 2016-17.

It was the last of four straight wins the Raiders needed to advance to the playoffs after the team entered Week 15 with a 6-7 record.

With just under eight and a half minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Las Vegas built what seemed to be a safe 29-14 lead.

But quarterback Justin Herbert and the Chargers were resilient, and  would climb all the way back and ultimately tie the game as time expired in regulation.

Las Vegas had come to far to not extend its season, though, and the Raiders would go on to earn the overtime victory and move on to the postseason after a four-year playoff drought.

The Raiders have played in three prime-time games since that night: their Monday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs, their Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Rams and their Christmas Eve game against the Steelers, all of which were last season.

Las Vegas' 2022 game against the New England Patriots was originally set for Sunday night, but that slot was flexed out for the New York Giants-Washington Commanders game.

Sunday's showdown with Pittsburgh will be the first of five prime-time games the Raiders are scheduled to play this season.

They have not won in prime-time since that Sunday night game against the Chargers.

The Silver and Black return home to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 8:20 p.m. EDT/5:20 p.m. PDT.
