The Las Vegas Raiders have been under the ownership of the Davis family for more than 50 years now.

Now, only months after Tom Brady, arguably the greatest quarterback to ever play the game, announced his retirement after 23 seasons in the NFL, the future Hall-of-Famer is in discussions to join Mark Davis and become a limited partner of the Raiders franchise, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Brady acquired ownership interest in Davis' other professional team, the Las Vegas Aces, the reigning champions of the WNBA, in March.

It was speculated more than once late in his NFL career that the seven-time Super Bowl champion would join the Silver and Black, but obviously, it never happened.

However, with this latest news, Raider Nation could end up having an affiliation with Brady after all -- one that isn't the franchise's 20-plus-year linkage to the infamous "Tuck Rule game."

Brady would already have an abundance of connections to the club due to his two decades of playing for the New England Patriots.

Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels, of course, served as Brady's offensive coordinator for 13 years and joined New England as a personnel assistant in 2001, Brady's second year in the league. McDaniels was part of all six of the Patriots' Super Bowl titles.

Brady is also well familiar with the Raiders' newest franchise quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, who served as his backup back in New England.
