Raiders Sign 2023 Seventh-Round Pick Nesta Jade Silvera
The Las Vegas Raiders have signed their final pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, former Arizona State defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera, the club confirmed on Thursday.
Silvera was selected in the seventh round with the 231st overall pick.
The prospect played just one season at Arizona State, having transferred there after playing four seasons for the University of Miami.
In his lone season with the Sun Devils, Silvera recorded 56 tackles, 4.5 for losses, 1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. He would earn first-team All-Pac 12 honors for the 2022 season.
During his time with the Hurricanes, Silvera totaled 105 tackles, 16 for losses, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass defensed in 41 games. He was named an All-ACC honorable mention in his final season with the program.
Silvera posted a 5.16-second 40-yard dash time, a 29.5-inch vertical jump, and a 9-foot-2-inch broad jump at the 2023 NFL Combine.
"I'm loving the West Coast, loving the desert," Silvera told the media after he was drafted last month. "I had a top-30 visit with the Raiders earlier this month and just got a good connection with a couple of the staff, worked with Coach [Patrick] Graham at the Senior Bowl. Worked with [Antonio] AP [Pierce] when I went over to ASU. Man, they've got a great D-line coach. I'm just blessed to be a Raider."
