Raiders Insider Podcast: Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer, More

In our latest episode of the Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast, we deep dive into what a Tom Brady minority ownership would look like, the presence of Brian Hoyer, and more.

HENDERSON, Nev.--In our latest episode of the Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast, we dive deep into the current state of the Silver and Black.

Veteran journalist Jon Schopp joins us to discuss the potential pros and cons of the great quarterback in National Football League history, Tom Brady, buying a minority share in the Las Vegas Raiders.

Could the addition of Brady to the ownership suite have a similar impact on the organization as Earvin "Magic" Johnson did with the Los Angeles Dodgers?

Would adding a proven winner to the owner's box make the Las Vegas Raiders?  Could it make the National Football League better?

While it is no secret that the Raider Nation despises the New England Patriots, should that factor into fans wanting or not wanting Tom Brady?

We also dig into adding Brian Hoyer as the Las Vegas Raiders' backup to Jimmy Garoppolo.

Hoyer has mastered the Josh McDaniels system but brings considerable value in other areas. For example, Hoyer had Mac Jones, the New England Patriots quarterback, under his tutelage, and that mentorship propelled him to a Pro Bowl season during his rookie campaign.

It is believed that Bill Belichick, at one point, was hoping that Brian Hoyer would move into coaching when his career was done. Can the sure-handed leadership and level-headed understanding of the game plan make Hoyer considerably more valuable as nearly an additional coach in the locker room?

Additionally we take a look at the Raiders schedule.

As predicted recently, I expect the Raiders to have a floor of seven wins and a ceiling of nine this season.

We dig in on the first four games (I predict a 1-3 start) and spend considerable time talking Denver Broncos.

Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels deserve the benefit of the doubt for betting on Jimmy Garoppolo. Praised as a teammate, competitor, and winner, his health is the only knock on the Raiders' new leader.

If Garoppolo stays healthy, all praise goes to Ziegler and McDaniels.  But, if he does not, all the criticism is planted squarely on their desks.
