'Greatest Ever!' Baltimore Ravens Coach John Harbaugh Details Challenge of Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams Defense
The Los Angeles Rams have been one of the more fortunate franchises in the NFL over the last decade.
Maybe not always in the category of 'wins,' but there is one thing that L.A. has had that no one else in the NFL has - defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, seven-time first-team All-Pro, and nine-time Pro Bowler is arguably the most decorated defensive tackle in the history of the game.
In fact, Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, whose team has to line up opposite of Donald on Sunday, believes the Rams star is indeed the best ever to play the position.
“You have to know where he’s at, at all times, and try to get as many people blocking him as you can for as long as you can — which is a tall order,” Harbaugh said on Wednesday. “He’s probably the greatest to ever play at that position."
That said, Harbaugh also knows that the Rams are more than just Donald on defense.
Over the last few weeks, they have been one of the more surprising defenses in the NFL overall, holding opponents to an average of 17.5 points per game since the start of November.
And while that all starts with Donald, Harbaugh has been impressed with the defense as a whole, and how disruptive they have been along the front.
“So, he’s definitely that, but it’s not just him, they have just quite a few really good players on defense," Harbaugh said. "They play really hard. They’re flying around [and have] a very disruptive front. So, we have our work cut out for us.”
The Rams and Ravens are set to kick off from M&T Bank Stadium at 10 am PT.
