Injured Colts QB Anthony Richardson to Return vs. Rams?

The Los Angeles Rams appear to be in line to face the Indianapolis Colts' dynamic rookie quarterback.

The Los Angeles Rams find themselves in the middle of what we call a losing streak but do have a chance to end it this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts.

However, there was one huge question hanging over who will be playing quarterback for the Colts.

Their first-round pick and uber-dynamic quarterback Anthony Richardson ended up getting concussed two weeks ago, forcing him to miss their last game against the Baltimore Ravens, which led to Gardner Minshew starting.

Minshew led the Colts to a surprising win for what was their second straight victory, and some may have thought that he would be on track to start again. However, according to reports, Richardson who is still in concussion protocol is expected to take first-team reps during Wednesday's practice.

The No. 4 overall pick came out of the gates with his hair on fire to kick off his rookie season. However, on a great play that saw him utilize his legs for what was his second rushing touchdown against the Texans, he took a hard hit that ended up causing him to hit his head on the turf. He later exited the game after self-reporting concussion symptoms.

While he has a huge arm and is an elite athlete, based on their track record of facing rookie quarterbacks the Rams are likely hoping that he can return.

According to NFL Research, if Richardson can go, he'd be the ninth rookie to start against the Rams since 2014. The previous eight didn't fare well by any means, as they combined to go 1-7, throwing seven TDs and seven interceptions with the lone quarterback beating the Rams being Tua Tagovailoa.

As it stands right now, ESPN has the Colts as one-point favorites, but their matchup predictor gives the Rams a 55.9 percent chance of winning.
