Rams WR Cooper Kupp Exits Practice With Injury

Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp reportedly left Tuesday night's practice with an undisclosed injury

The Los Angeles Rams received news that no one wanted to hear on Tuesday night.

According to Jourdan Rodrigue, who covers the Rams for The Athletic, star receiver Cooper Kupp was spotted walking off the field with an athletic trainer at Tuesday night's practice.

Initially, Rams coach Sean McVay said he didn't know what happened to Kupp and didn't have any updates on his status. In a follow-up tweet, though, Rodrigue added that McVay later received an update on the situation, with the medical staff telling him Kupp would miss the rest of the day.

“He looked like he came up a little bit in a red zone route," McVay said. "I just know they told me he was out for practice.”

It goes without saying, but Kupp missing time would be a disaster for the Rams. He is far and away their best offensive weapon, with the receivers behind him mostly being unproven.

After a historic 2021 season, Kupp had 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns in nine games last season. While not as dominant as the year before, Kupp still had a strong showing in 2022 with just over 90 receiving yards per game. Unfortunately for him and the Rams, a sprained ankle that required surgery ended his season halfway through.

Injuries played a huge part in the Rams' struggles last season, and Kupp's was one of the most devastating. This reported injury may end up being nothing serious, which is what the Rams are praying for as they look to rebound to form this season.
